Ron has been in the investment industry for over 25 years, and has worked with retiring crew member families since 1987. He is the co-founder and Chairman of RAA. In 2012 Ron was elected to serve in Texas State House of Representatives. He is a national speaker on leadership and entrepreneurship and is very involved with the charitable organization Equip. Ron serves as Vice Chairman of the national Board of Directors of the Autism Society of America and is also involved with his church, Prestonwood Baptist, as a teacher in the young married division. He is a graduate of Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelors degree in Business.
President and Chief Executive Officer
John Bentley serves as President and CEO for RAA. He is responsible for the strategic direction of the company and for implementing best practices in all areas. Given his extensive background in private equity investing he also leads RAA's acquisitions and external growth initiatives. John has served on the board since 2008 and joined the company full time in 2010. Prior to RAA, John founded Cornerstone Equity Partners (1995) and co-founded Grayhawk Capital (2000), both private equity funds based in Phoenix, AZ. He obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University. He has served on the board of the Baylor Foundation as well as over 20 privately held companies and one public company.
Bart is a Partner in RAA. Bart previously held titles of Chief Executive Officer and President for RAA. Bart officially joined the company in 2006 after being associated with RAA since 1988. He led RAA's management team from 2006-2014 and was responsible for the day-to-day business operations during that time. Prior to joining RAA, Bart was employed by American Beacon Advisors, where for 17 years he served as a member of American’s senior management team. Bart holds a BBA in Accounting from Baylor University.
Chairman of Investment Policy Committee
Bill serves as the Chairman of Investment Policy Committee at RAA. He has been in the securities and investment management business since January 1977, when he started working for the Wall Street firm of Blyth Eastman & Dillon. In 1979, he began working with American Airlines pilots, helping them manage their retirement fund assets. In 1986, he joined Balanced Financial Asset Management Corporation as its President, and left in 1988 to start LAMP Advisors, Inc., a firm that worked with retiring commercial airline pilots in managing their retirement assets. In 1994, LAMP Advisors, Inc. merged with Pritchard, Herr and Associates to form Pritchard, Hubble and Herr, Inc. Bill is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has a MBA in Finance. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the parent organization for financial analysts.
Chief Investment Officer
Jeremy Merchant serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for RAA. Jeremy joined the company in 2005. He serves on the firm’s Investment Policy Committee and is responsible for Investment and Trading Operations at RAA. Prior to joining RAA, Jeremy was employed at American Beacon Advisors, where he was responsible for assisting with the oversight of approximately $6 billion in international assets, $3 billion in small cap assets, $400 million in high yield bond assets and $20 million in treasury inflation protected bond assets. Jeremy’s primary involvement while at American Beacon was with the assets from American Airlines Fixed Benefit Plan, and Pilot’s Variable Plan (“B Plan”) as well as the American Beacon Funds. Jeremy holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington and has been in the securities and investment business since March 2000.
Ken Mills is a Partner at RAA. Ken joined the company in 2000 and also worked with RAA from 1995 to 1998. His responsibilities have included Director of Sales and Marketing and Director of Client Services. Ken holds a BS in the Douglas MacArthur Academy of Freedom from Howard Payne University.
Vice President, Client Service
Mark D. Rubey serves as the Vice President of Client Service for RAA. Mark joined RAA in 2003. He leads the Relationship Manager team, which is responsible for client communications. Prior to RAA, Mark was a Team Manager with Fidelity Investments for nine years. Mark holds a BS in Finance from Northern Illinois University and an MBA, with an emphasis in Financial and Estate Planning from the University of Dallas. Mark is a Certified Financial Planner™.
Vice President of Business Development
Brad Bridgewater is the Vice President of Business Development for RAA. He leads the Financial Consultant and pilot representative teams across the country for all the airlines RAA serves. Brad joined the company in 2005 and spent seven years as a Financial Consultant. Prior to joining RAA, Brad was an athlete, representing the United States National Swimming Team around the world, including winning a gold medal in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta in the 200 meter backstroke. Brad holds a BA from the University of Southern California.
Vice President, Controller
Tex B. Grubbs serves as Vice President and Controller for RAA. Tex officially joined the company in 2004 after being associated with RAA for several years as a consultant. He is responsible for the preparation of all financial reporting, and budgeting. Tex holds a BBA in Accounting from Baylor University and has been a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas since 1984.
Chief Operating Officer
Jeffrey A. Baumert serves as a Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for RAA. Jeff joined RAA in 2016. Prior to RAA, Jeff was a partner and Chief Investment Officer with Advisor Financial Services which integrated operations with RAA. Jeff has been in the financial services industry since 1998. In 1996 he was hired as a pilot for a major US airline and maintains his active pilot status. After a 27 year career he retired as a Colonel from the United States Marine Corp. Jeff earned a BS in Materials Science Engineering from Virginia Tech and holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst® certification.
Chief Compliance Officer
Gary Krasnov serves as the Chief Compliance Officer for RAA. Gary joined RAA in 2016 as part of the Advisor Financial Services merger where he was a Partner and CCO. He is responsible for firm compliance with all SEC and DOL laws and regulations. Gary is also an active Delta pilot and currently flies as an international B-777 Captain. Prior to Delta Gary flew in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Commander from the Navy Reserves. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Economics and is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®.
Vice President of Marketing
Kelly Hammett serves as Vice President of Marketing for RAA. Kelly joined the firm in 2013 and is responsible for strategic marketing planning and communication efforts, branding, digital marketing, advertising and media relations.
Prior to joining RAA, she worked as Marketing Director at MarketScout, and has over 10 years of marketing experience. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Texas.
Chief Financial Officer
Josh Spiegel serves as Chief Financial Officer for RAA. Josh joined the firm in 2012 and leads the Finance, Accounting and Administration team.
Prior to joining RAA, he worked in Audit at Saville, Dodgen & Co. Josh holds a BBA in Accounting & Real Estate from Baylor University and has been a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas since 2013.
